Also, who's grease are you using? (I expect it to be EP #2.)

The Harley bearings clearly are not up to the task.

At the 6,000 mile mark, I replaced~
The rear wheel
The axle
All wheel bearings
Brake rotor
Brake caliper stay arm
Brake pads

All covered under warranty.

The tech told me he's done quite a few wheel bearings lately. The dealership uses an upgraded wheel bearing with Shell Darina AX grease.
that was another question I was gonna ask when I do get my new parts. I was currently running belray waterproof grease (green in color). My father who wrenches on the weekend said he didn't like it because it seemed to light and would liquefy with the heat and recommended a lithium moly type grease. I'm open to grease suggestions as well!

It's a 41455-08C kit, but if you want to use other bearings such as those Timken 205pp bearings then buy the 41748-08 spacer sleeve (same one as you measured earlier) and 41450-08 shim separately.

That shim in the photo "appears" to be wider than a 41450-08, that's why I'm asking for a measurement.

.

But wouldn't a smaller shim make the axle spacer more loose inside? Is that what I need? Also the timken bearings are a different width than oem bearings?

Also I could just buy those parts separately from the dealer rather than buying the install kit? I'm pretty sure the kit is 60$ because of the bearings

The numbers I quoted are what you need... Buy them separately.

No, those 205pp are the same dimensions as the OEM (9276,9276A,9276B). Which is a Bearing industry Std# 6205-2rs.

Even using tape measure on that shim now might be enough for me to know if it's wrong

Default World Wide Bearings

I've had good luck and very good customer service from World Wide Bearings. I have a set of their ceramic bearings in my 09 Softail, maybe overkill but I feel better.

Shim is 5 mm multihdr

After thinking about the whole dilemma I'm considering a dual disc setup would a stock low rider wheel bolt up to my single disc slider setup for now? Thinking of running a dual hub wheel but running a single rotor for now til I finish the project come winter time I'm also guessing I need differ spacers from the ones I currently have

Front 2014-later Low Rider wheel will bolt right up to your 2009 FXD using the same spacers...unless someone has changed them (who knows with your bike's history

Check yours...Left / Right should be the same length...approx .981" (24.9mm). If not, you'll need new ones

Shim is 5 mm
Yeah, that's the wrong shim. The correct shim is approx .068" (1.73mm).

So maybe what happened is that with the wider shim on the Primary side, the Secondary Right-side bearing ran out of bore depth before it could "tightened up" on the sleeve which caused bearing preload when the axle was torqued...effectively like having too short a spacer sleeve

With Bearing Failure imminent ...Over and Over
