Default Front wheel bearing install
when installing new bearings how far are you supposed to press the secondary bearing into the hub? The axel spacer has slight play inside but I'm afraid of over tightening the bearing? What could happen if you reinstall a wheel with slight play in the axel spacer?

Press it in until it just touches the spacer, a slight drag is what you're after.

Install the disc side bearing first, seated into the hub.

Install the spacer and then press in the other bearing and *snug* it up against the spacer. ... like QC said also.

theres a slight rattle if I place my fingers inside the wheel and move the spacer I'm asking if this correct because Im replacing timken bearings that i also failed after 150 miles what am I doing wrong or what else could contribute to failure? I packed the bearings good and installed letters facing outwards. This is on a bike with only 7300 miles

Also it's the left side only that failed. Excessive side load maybe? I'll take pics of the guts later on in the day

2009 superglide it has harley magnum 5 wheels (not stock but are harley wheels )
