I've put about 6,000 miles on my 14 street bob this year, including a week long cross country trip. I ride like you see in my signature. No saddle bags or windshield. I strap a backpack behind me on the luggage rack and an old Alice pack on the back of the sissy bar. A Go Cruise throttle lock, core tech mini tank bag, and a USB plug are the only things I add for long rides. I stay off the interstate 90+ % of the time so the lack of a windshield is really not an issue.

That's cool man. I get worked up about this trip, but my dad always tells us stories about touring Colorado two up on a 350 Honda with tweaked gearing. I guess I shouldn't be too worried on a LRS...

Crampbuster. Saddleman comfy seat. Rigid-mount fender rack for tying on some stuff. Hard roll on the front.
3 or 4 cargo nets and a couple hefty trash bags in case of rain.
.
depends on the definition of "touring".

How about St Louis - to Glacier National Park.... via some 'other' scenic destinations.....
.

I have done a couple of weeks of touring this year on my 2014 Fat Bob all over Europe.

Leatherpros bags, a quarter fairing, the stock seat rather than my barhopper solo one and a nice slippery modular helmet - Schuberth C3 Pro.

I can spend the whole day on the motorway like that if need be. Plenty comfortable, no buffeting, plenty storage.

Bluetooth headphones for tunes would be nice. I need to get impressions made of my ear canals for some custom ones.

I have done some long trips. 899+ miles in a weekend.

Just added a windshield, Highway bars, and a saddlemen bag to carry my gear. Seat is next to be changed on the Wide Glide.

Did 700 miles in three days this summer around Oregon with my daughter on the back. I have a QR windshield, bags, after market seat and luggage rack. Very comfortable for me especially with the foreword controls. She needed to get off every hour or two. Great memories with my daughter and my bike.

I've been known to put miles on Dyna's over the years...

I wouldn't sweat it at all on a LRS as long as the bikes in good mechanical shape. I've gone from Minneapolis to Las Vegas in 3.5 days on that street bob. Lots of long mileage adventures; ran out of gas in the Nevada desert, took it out on the Bonneville Salt Flats, red rock canyon, black hills, bad lands, Lake Superior circle, 3 rainy days in the Wisconsin Driftless area, etc.... It was all a blast on the bob with minimal gear and the wind in my face.

To each their own, but you don't need all those bags and such.
