All great replies, I'm gonna look at that roll bag and the fairing. I live in Kansas, and it's a bit windy here, but I'm used to it after 5 years.

gorlfriend and I are gonna take a trip to NOLA this fall, looking forward to the ride!

I can spend the whole day on the motorway like that if need be. Plenty comfortable, no buffeting, plenty storage.

Bluetooth headphones for tunes would be nice. I need to get impressions made of my ear canals for some custom ones.

I'd take a look at the SRC for your helmet. I have one in my C3 Pro and love it. I can listen to my music, get GPS voice commands and even talk on the phone if I want. Also my dad has the same setup, so we can speak back and forth via intercom.

Wherever I go, long or short, it's on the bike. Never owned a car, never will if I can help it. I just add or remove parts, depending on where, and how far I'm going.

My longest trip on my SB to date was a meandering 12,000km loop across Australia and back, rough camping all the way. Extra fuel cells, water, spare parts, etc. About 2000km of the trip was on gravel roads and tracks, the rest on backroads, and the mind-numbingly straight, flat and treeless Eyre Highway.

It never missed a beat. These bikes will go anywhere. They are a scary handful riding on sand though

Did 100 miles before breakfast on Saturday. 2-300 miles in a day are nothing the way I have it set up now. I haven't had the need to go further in a day lately. I had to cancel my plans for Street Vibrations in Reno this weekend, so no ride up there, but I'll be heading up to Chico and Redding in a couple weeks. Going town to Ventura in another month or so, and then in spring I'll be in Oceanside and San Diego for a few days.

I pack light, throw-over bags hold 3 changes of clothes and my additional gear, rain gear goes between the fairing and bars, and I'm good to go from there. Like I said, I pack light. If I've got 3 changes I can do 3 days wash at a time, and that's easy to handle.

My brother an I both have 2017 FXDLS. We just rode down the San Diego and then back up the 1 and then back home to the Sierra Nevadas. T-Sport fairing and leatherpros t sport bags. Swapped out my seat for a touring seat. All good.

I do. I just came back from a 5500 mile trip out west on my Super Glide. My longest single trip on a Dyna was the Arctic Circle and back.

Last year, October of 2016, I covered the entire Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP) and Skyline Drive and then visited Washington DC. I covered about 2000 miles on my Super Glide for one of the most enjoyable trips I've ever made.

I snapped on my removable windshield, stashed a waterproof duffel on the passenger seat and took off from the coast of Alabama.

The bike did fine. My new engine configuration with the 204 cams along with the Ohlins suspension was fantastic. On the BRP, I kept the bike in 3rd a lot of the time with an occasional cruise in 4th. Since then I've added the V&H 2:1 exhaust and the 15 inch Big Brake.
