17 low rider s with a 48 state fuel pack and v and hines high output 2 into one shorts with a quiet baffle...When I leave work on hot days, and about 5 minutes into my freeway ride home, I get a stumble at lower rpms in an area I have to slow down for traffic for about a minute or less. I've noticed it is more prevalent in warmer days when the bike is in sunlight before I leave. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I think it is something to do with the evap system and fuel vapor from sitting in the sun. Ive tried opening the fuel cap before leaving and he fuel level doesn't affect it. Otherwise the bike runs like a champ anytime else.
i have a stock 2017 with about 800 miles on it, and once in a while it will stumble as i open the throttle from idle. it has also stalled a couple of times as i let the clutch out from a stop. seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
i've been wondering if a fuel-moto tune will put a stop to it, or if it's more serious.
definitely annoying/disappointing.
I get a cough here n there too, 16' FXDF. She does NOT like to go before warming up for sure, BIG diff there between my Raider I had previously. I notice it at idle at lights too, sometimes give it a few extra RPM to ensure I don't become a speedbump, I wonder if I need to tune it better with the Screamin' Eagle tuner I've got or go get it done, but I've got dyno sheet from the previous owner that had it tuned at Colonial HD, so I'm at a loss there.
I just wanted to check in with what resolved the issue and cleaned the bike up overall and is more crisp now. Ya, it was the evap system. I pulled the two smaller lines off the charcoal canister and a few ounces of fuel came running out. I left the 2 smaller ones disconnected and I've never had the issue since. Maybe this will help someone else down the road.✌

More than likely one of those 2 is a direct line into your throttle body, after the air filter. Probably not a bad idea to figure out which is which and cap it.
I had the same issue. I took it back to the dealer but they werent any help as usual. Even at idle mine would stumble and it would rattle the trans gears. I ended up with a new pipe and a Power Vision and havent noticed it since.
Is it safe to remove the EVAP system completely? That was the first thing to go on my supermoto...

Yep. Just get a rubber plug to cap the fitting at the TB. Im not 100% sure with your tuner if it ignores evap codes, though and you may need to leave the purge solenoid (by the coil) on and plugged into the harness to avoid a check engine light and code. My thundermax doesnt register evap stuff, so i was able to pull everything off. Id just unplug it and see if ya get a light. Itll pop on immediately if its an issue (did with a friends bike when we tried his).
