Default Crash Bar

I'm getting older (75) and beginning to think how hard it will be to pick the bike up should I ever need to. Anyone have experience with crash bars and how difficult/easy they are to put on? Does the bottom require any adjustment because of the motor mount?

Thanks in advance. Keep riding!

I put my front Crash bars on myself. It was fairly easy. Gonna get some for the back as well. Didn't require any adjustments on my Deluxe.

You didn't say what model you have, but more than likely it's a straight bolt on install.

So far I've put crash bars on 2 street bobs, a road King, a sportster, and a lrs. They are extremely easy to install. They normally bolt on with one bolt in the hole at the top of where the down tubes meet, and a clamp (similar to an exhaust clamp on a car) on each down tube at the bottom. If I can do it, anyone can. If you don't get chrome, I would suggest having the hardware powdercoated. And no, there's no adjustment to worry about.

Bought crash bars for my SB, and still haven't done the install. But, it looks really straight forward, just need to find time to do it.

There's a few videos on YouTube on crash bar installation. Maybe if you watch one it'll show you how easy it is and help you tackle it with confidence. Just type in Harley crash bar installation.

I've got the Lindby on my 03 Low Rider. Bolted up to the forward control mounts on each side and the single bolt up top in the middle. I like it as it gives me another place to place my feet when cruising. The one I have is for the Wide Glide and/or the Switchback. I had forward controls on but after I mounted it up I switched over to HD Footboards. Lindby sent me the little spacers that I needed for the install of the footboards. The only thing I don't like about it is the lower bracket scrapes when I lean into turns at times. I'm not taking the corners so fast the pegs would scrape if I didn't have the lindby on but I now have to be careful how fast I take a corner and make sure I slow down enough.
