You gotta wonder how many riders have been injured/killed because they had to look away from their POT to check speed or monitor other gauges/lamps. I bet it's not zero...
really has nothing to do with injuries etc... some folks just want that info in their line of sight, others don't. no biggie. some folks never want to see a tach... diff strokes, yes?
i've never understood the whole gauge relocation to the side of the bike that people do on rats and sportys. seems incredibly silly:
at the end of the day, i don't care because those aren't my bikes, you dig?
I like the clean look with the gauges on the dash (although the FXDL dash bezel looks like cheap plastic and I'm hoping to remedy that this winter...) but when wearing a full face helmet, I can't see squat down there. Gas light comes on, might not notice until its too late.
Im use to it on the handle bars but in my personal taste i do like it on the bars. But i was thinking of putting a tach in the place off where the speedo woupd be! I do not look at my gauge most the time. A visual check here and there, just like my surrounding when im riding. My eyes are always busy. But i mostly xheck it to make sure i am not speeding. I do not want any tickets what so ever!
I appreciate all the responses you guys have given me! It helps w my decision. I dont think i like the plates that cover up the holes once the speedo and/or the tach is relocated. I dont think it looks clean enough, in my opinion. I think ill just ride it for a lil bit and make my decision from there. I do not have the bike yest, its on hold for me but at the dealership for me lol.
As a side question. Does anyone know if the street bob has offset clevises for the foot pegs? And if the oem passenger footpeg mount kit is offset clevis as well too?
I was looking at aftermarket ones and harley ones. And man, the hd oem ones are actually cheaper! I do not like the offset clevis idea to much though.

Did you get your la pera cherokee seat custom? Looks like it. I had that seat on my sportster 72 and man its sweet. Im going to get one for my street bob as well. How much did it run you?
