Question Rusty studs

my new pipes,AC/DC air cleaner and Powervision are on the way, the studs for the exhaust on my 2010 WG are pretty rusty, i've been squirting PB blaster on them everyday in preparation of new parts coming this wednesday from Fuel moto but they still look like they could be a bitch to get off.

any suggestions from the hive ?

anything else i should soak these exhaust studs with?

tighten a little bit then loosen, they should come right off with a 1/2" socket.

wire brush the exposed stud/nut parts and then again when the pipes are off to clean them up.

if they are stuck by rust, if you have an oxy acetylene torch, carfully heat the nuts to a dull red, most likely will come loose then.

A 50/50 mix of acetone and automatic transmission fluid works wonders.

Truth.

I've started using Seafoam instead of acetone. It doesn't separate.

Anti seize on the new nuts is a good way to coat the threads to help with rust in the future. I live near the beach and use little things like this all of the time to prevent crappy future rust

pb blaster is good , spray some on them heat with a heat gun, spray while hot repeat 2-3 times and then tighten and loosen slowly going both ways they will come off but use a small wire brush ,like a 1/2 fitting brush for copper patience is the key !!

Ha... subject line would make a good name for a over-60 band..

I used to use diesel fuel as a penetrating oil... it does decent if you have little else around.
