I have an 07 lowrider and I installed a 2" tank lift. This aint good! The top bolt head on the top of the tree dented my tank. The brake line will save your right side but watch that left. The bolt(trip tree)will contact the tank before the fork stop engages.
I was gonna get a lift on mine but when I raised the bike off the ground and raised the front of the tank, I found that I couldn't go with any lift at all. Damn custom triple trees.
I'm almost at the point where I don't want to do anything to my bike before I see it done. I know, so much for originality... but learning from own experiences can get expensive.
I just installed a 2" lift on my '07 wide glide today. Was getting ready to reinstall the seat when I thought I'd check for clearances. Top bolts on the tree hit both sides of the tank. Pulled the rear mounting bolt and enlarged the existing elongated mounting hole enough to get about an 1/8" clear of the interference end. Very happy with the looks and change in air flow around the tank.
If I hadn't checked the clearance I too would have had a dent or two.

I'm with you on that man. Fuggin hd's are a nitemare when it comes to what will fit on what year, model and the like.
I take my time on upgrades of any kind due to this fact. Research is a pita but worth the time.
Is this probelm specific to the '07s? I have as 3" on my '06 FXDBI and my ridin' bud, Swoop_In, has the same on his '06 WG - no clearance issues, period. the only issue I have is the signal lamps can just touch my tank (but I have Night Train drags).
