With throttle by wire, you can enable it by rolling the throttle full forward, as previously indicated. Unless something has changed between the '16 and the '17 models, the dealer has to enable the throttle by cable versions for you, unless you have a flash tuner that is capable of enabling it for you (for example, PowerVision).

Thank you. That must be the answer. The dealer must have to do it on my 2017 Fat Bob. That will be a pain, to have to go to the dealer to have it turned on and off. It would be much better if the user could enable and disable it themselves.

I wonder what the dealer charges for that change?
Good question, and one I unfortunately don't have the answer for. I'm betting my dealer would probably do it for free, but I'm also betting that a lot of them would charge something for it. I can't see it taking more than five minutes or so....
Nope...I am not sure what a tuner is... The is my first new Harley since 1970. Mine is still 99.9% stock. (I removed the passenger strap). My passenger never uses them and I think it looks better/cleaner without the strap.

The bikes ship extremely lean due to EPA requirements; a tuner, such as a Power Vision flash tuner replaces the OEM tune with one that actually lets the bike perform and run cooler. Even completely stock, a flash tuner will make a world of difference in your ride's performance...

Oh! Thank you... I will have to look into a tuner. Someone told me that changing the tuner will void the warranty. I can tell its lean. The engine wants to surge or hesitate. My 1970 Ironhead is smoother.
I also wonder if a tuner will work with the stock pipes. I like the looks and sound of the stock exhaust and have no plans on change it.
