If it was me I would go for the extended forward controls. Unless you find the oem seat uncomfortable. to me, the stock sb seat is perfect. I can ride all day every day with that seat. I bought one for my lrs right after I traded in my bob. Plus I like the look better how it shows more of the fender.
Depending on on which brand extensions you go with, it'll probably be cheaper than a new seat

Check out Mustang or C&C. I have a Mustang Day Tripper on my LRS that is a little narrow for me. The C&C Sport Tour that I had on my Fat Bob has a wide saddle but has pretty thin padding. I am 6'4" so to move me back C&C had to thin out the padding. They do offer gel inserts though.
I agree with the extended forwards, I am 6'2" and I tried a bunch of seats and finally went with the extended forward controls with a LePera Villain seat.
