I have a 2014 FXDB Street Bob , When I bought the bike it came with a Daytona Tuner in it, im currently have issues with the bike and codes with hard start and vinner code but cant access anything do to the tuner and I don't have the software or anyone in CT that can get into it. ( that I know of ) Im wondering do I have to buy a new stock ecu or ecm , then buy a separate tuner ? Or can I just throw in a new tuner with someone who can tune and dyno the bike locally? Any suggestions would help thanks.
Is your battery fully charged? It's normal to get vinerr and hard starting when it's cold out. My old sb and lrs both did it. Can you get the bike to start at all? Does the vinerr go away once it starts? If it doesn't start try with a jump box connected. Low voltage will cause the code. When I try to start mine, it will turn for a split second, stop for a second, then start when it's 30s or lower.

I have a daytona twin tec on my wide...it's a piggy back unit that doesn't affect the standard ecu in any way...didn't even require any wires to be split...just a couple of wires needed to be removed from the standard connectors and a couple needed adding in their place.
The twin tec use the same type of end pins as the harley so was a quick and easy job.
Removing one from your system would be a simple matter of reversing the changes by working backwards through the installation instructions which can be downloaded from them.
Will say though that the daytona has been an excellent unit with easy to use basic tuning controls although I did also purchase the cheap usb add on extra that allows me to reprogram in finer detail with my laptop and use power commander maps...
Besides hard starting, what other problems are you having?
You'd be surprised how many things are caused by a low or bad battery. First thing to do is to get yours fully charged up and have it load tested.
Procedure for doing a battery check I picked up from someone else on the forums:
With bike off, take a $5 harbor freight voltage meter and probe the pos/neg terminals with voltage. It should be 12V or more.
Test 2, have someone hold the probes while you start your bike...if voltage drops below 9.5V, your battery is TOAST. Replace it and all will be fixed.
I just replaced the battery on my 16' and problem was solved. I was very surprised because I use a AGM battery tender daily and the battery should last me a LONG long time. Oh well. It's better than getting that stupid error and the bike not wanting to start.
