NAh......that wont help.......POWERVISION or some other type of tuner......with just pipes i doubt if you need a tuner........if you also went with a high flow air cleaner (stage 1) YES for the tuner.......from the factory all these bikes are running really lean.......tuner richens it up so it runs better and cooler.......id get a tuner if your gonna be adding flow stuff.

The dealer retune is mandated by EPA to bring the bike back to the EPA requirements with your mods to your model.

Screw that. The stock tune is crap and bad for your motor because of EPA regulations. Same reason stock air cleaners route spent crank case air back through the intake. Hot, oxygen depleted and oil laden air being fed into your intake. Does that sound like the type of air you want going into your cylinders? I’d much rather vent the crank case to atmosphere and have cool, clean air in my intake.

Get a good aftermarket tuner and make it run right. Only reason you would need to worry about it is if you live in a communist area that requires smog testing.

I'm not saying you have to take it back to the dealer but that's what the dealer would do as a retune/reflash. Get an aftermarket tuner and tune your bike with that. +1 with the external breather tubes.

Bike? Year?

Dealer stage 1 tune will keep you from getting into the “lean enough to eventually cause damage” area, but it’s far from optimal to reduce heat and make most power.
