A fork brace helps your fork lowers slide up and down the fork tubes in unison. I had one on my '06 Super Glide. It helped tighten up front end feel and cancelled a bit of vibration in fast sweepers but it did nothing to tighten up the lateral flex caused by the rubber engine/tranny mounts. For that, you need to install something like a True Trac link system. Eric Buell would approve. He wanted them as standard on the Dyna chassis but the bean counter Dept. didn't let him. Most riders don't notice the flex but some of us do and go for the aftermarket solution.
I just installed a Big Als Cycles Bubba fork brace on my Dyna.
seems to work well. I notice that my bike doesn't get caught in the groves of the highway as easily anymore. Im not fighting the steering as much now.
Seems like its a worthy mod for the money they cost. I've never run one, but I'm all for a more stable and responsive ride. I think it'd be a good first step in locking things up much better, prior to drop in spring upgrades in the forks and going to progressive in back. That's my plan at least.
