the lower riderS already has "premium" suspension.

But longer rear shocks (like 13in) would be better and new springs and the like up front.

I have put the Ohlins HD764 black line 13.5 inch shocks on my FXDLS.
These are 1.5 inches longer than the stock premium shocks and are a heaps better than even the fairly good premium stock shocks on the lrs.
I'm in Queensland and the ride on our goat track roads is heaps more compliant and controlled with the benefit of much better lean angle before anything scrapes.
They weren't cheap but definitely worth the dollars.
If I remember right they cost me around $1700 AU.

id suggest ohlins as well however I haven't actually tried different models. I also have the lrs and enjoy the endless potholes (which are large enough to be confused with a cliff) of Michigan but still find my suspension to be sufficient. Have you tried adjusting the rear shocks at all? I've heard a lot of people talking about air suspensions lately as well.

I see you have a bunch of aftermarket LED lights. Not to hijack the thread but would you mind telling me how difficult the install was for those? I just ordered up a set oh led aux lights and a tad nervous about installing them myself once they arrive.

What is your budget? The price range is huge when it comes to suspension. Also what type of riding are you wanting to do? The answers to these two questions will get you better options for your specific needs.

I would avoid air suspension unless you dont care about ride, and only care about the looks.

The wiring for the lights is pretty simple, I bought the electrical connection kit from my local hd dealer part number HD72673-11.
This plugs in to the socket behind the left side cover which then supplies switched and unswitched power for accessories, I used the switched power to power the led lights with a relay mounted behind the head light cowl which is triggered by high beam, so the lights are off when ignition is off and are only operated when high beam is on.
I just ran positive and negative power to the relay with a trigger wire tapped in to the high beam wire and the supply power from relay to the led lights.
The led driving lights are 25watt each and the light bar is 40watts, they provide impressive light to increase safety at night.
