17 FXDB wheels on an 07 FXDL

17 FXDB wheels on an 07 FXDL
Hey Im new to the forum and wanted to see if anyone had some insight into my situation. I have an 07 fxdl with cast wheels and have wanted black spoked wheels for some time now. Ive been told that they should be an easy swap so recently i purchased a set from a 17 fxdb. Went to install the rear wheel today and the bearings are different. My question is wats all involved in getting these to work?? New bearings and sleeve, wheel spacers, axle? Any help is greatly appreciated!

you should be able to press in the correct sleeve and new bearings. I don't remember where I found the tool, but I bought a bearing puller and pulled my own, bought new correct bearings and installed. Good to go.
The outside diameter of the bearings *should be the same.
Throw the new bearings in the freezer overnight and they'll press in easier

yes sir, that should work.
I did it back when I swapped wheels on my wifes old bike.
Unless something big changed. Double check with harley before I spend your money.
The bearing tool is worth the buy, harley charges an arm and a leg to pull and press bearings.

Wish I wouldve seen this 4 years ago! Im wanting to switch my fxdb wheels for 06 07 cast wheel, glad you were able to work out the fxdb wheels! if you still have the cast wheels Id be more than happy to buy them from you. Nine0four-8ninefour-7e
