Went for a ride the other day, stopped at the mail box, went to start bike, NOTHING. have lights Brake lights checked the new battery good.. stumped

Kill switch or ignition switch. Time to break out the multimeter and wiring diagram.

My 01 had a issue where the wires under the tank to the steering knuckle were too short and stretched and broke. If the frayed ends were touching it would run. But it grounded out a few times and fried the lights. And sometimes it just would not start. Took me a long time to find it. Found out it was common. Had to cut them all, lengthen them and reseal each one.
