Your best long term option is, if it's at all possible, would be to keep your battery on a Battery Tender. It's a simple job to install the Tender pig tail to the battery terminals and feed it out of the hole at the back of the battery box on the right side and keep the pig tail discretely hidden.
Whenever you're not riding, plug the Tender in to the pig tail; the battery will always remain at 100% ready for your next ride.
A Battery Tender isn't expensive; it's cheap insurance.
Charge the battery slowly back to 100%, then if you can, keep it on a Tender...
If you have to store the bike in unheated garage for a long period, may be best to take the battery out and leave it inside on the tender til riding season starts up.
