Default Bolt size?

Does anyone know the bolt size for hd nos softail rear turn signal standoff 69933-08? I purchase this stand off and it did not come w 2 stand offs or hardwear lol. So i gotta order the other stand off and find the bolt. From wat the guy says its just a regular bolt. I will not be installing it to tge fender strut but to the great bike gear relocation kit. Any ideas on sizing? Going to have to go on my day off and find the appropria hardwear.

Thank you! So that bolt size will go into a stock fxdb rear tail light housing? The threading will be ok?

2010 FXDB shows two different screws. Not sure why.

5/16-18x2 1/2
&
5/16-18x3 5/8

Hmmm, i just might have to take it apart and take a rear taillight bullet to the harwear store. Im not to sure how to read the measurments on this. I googled it and youtubed it lol. I think 18 is the thread pitch?
Would a 2017 fxdb be the same thread pitch for earlier models?

Yep, same for 2017. I didn't knpw ypur year so I just used 2010 as an educated guess.

I'm using THIS SITE as my resource. Bookmark it. It's super helpful.

As far as reading the thread info, you are correct. The first number, 5/16, is the nominal diameter. The outside diameter of the male thread is slightly smaller than this number.

The second number, 18, is the pitch. In the case of a SAE screw this is the number of threads per inch. Commonly there are only two choices for a given diameter...coarse (UNC) or fine (UNF). (There are more, but not as commonly used). In this case, that would be either 5/16-18 (UNC) or 5/16-24 (UNF).

The last number is the length of the fastener, usually measured from the underside of the head. A countersunk type head (cone shaped) will measure the whole fastener.

It always helps to give data like "year & model" so we can help you the quickest.

Also, it would be called a "stalk" not a "standoff." (Unless, of course, you are in a waiting game with someone else...)

well i was not sure exactley what it was called at first. But when i went about look to relocate my lights and license plate for my sissy bar, i came across the word stand off through great bike gear. Tgats how its described there on tge site. So assumed it was caed just that. But thanks for the correction. If i had known the proper description my search result for when i sas looking at them would have been more sufficient.

And thank you mostley for the descriptive answer. Youve been very helpful. I understand now far better now how to read it lol. The pitch is whats most important and diameter. I can figure out the length from there through trial and error and physically when i have all pieces in my hand. But i see that bike gear has priveded a bolt but not to sure if its meant to fit this piece or their piece i did not purchase, the stalk. Ive just been worrying mostly. Trying to get my homework in to something new. Haha thank u
