Too speed runs on a motorcycle is the dumbest thing you could ever do. Good way to kill yourself or someone else on the road. Use your head and don't be an idiot
alright..i will take that under consideration...but top speed thing is just for the curosity as i run with vrods and pretty faster dynas and u dont wanna b that slow guy of the group...
The speedometers max mph has nothing to do with the capable top speed of a vehicle. The hp (or torque) the motor is able to make along with the gearing is what determines the top speed. In your specific case, the motor does not have enough power to go faster. Cams, compression, more cubes, and head work, either separately or combined, will help you to go faster.

thanks man..i will start working on the cams as its the easiest..atleast that big of an engine should have equal grunt..m not gonna race a harley but i shud have that power at my disposal..
can u suggest any cams if i want the power range in mid to high end rpms...as the initial power is good..it goes numb after 160-170 km/h in 5th gear
u might be right but i had to test its limit usually i like to cruise along the highway but every once u have to max the speedometer..
Never had a vehicle would peg the speedo. But I've only ever been to 152 mph. My legs chickened out at about 120 in my 68 Corvette. Once the steering goes light, I'm out. No deathwish here.

I've had cars that could peg the speedo, but that was back in the days of 85mph speedos.
I find it funny that people actually think that the speedo's top speed is the top speed for the car.

Got a speeding ticket driving my mom's car through Nevada, it had an 85mph speedo, cop said I was doing a hundred all the while I thought I was doing 85. Cost me $400 and points on my license.
I tacked a cbr 1000. Got it to 300km.
i was 13 years younger and substantially stupider. I dont ever suggest going that fast. A fly would take you off.
