Was the CBR factory electronically speed limited at 186 mph? I know that my Suzuki Hayabusa was.
It was the last year of the carb'ed 900 series, the 929 switched to fuel injection so I think the electronics on the bike just ran the ignition, sensors and lights. I just stopped at that because the visor on my helmet flipped up. Right after, I pulled over on the side of the road and started shaking. Wont be doing that again.
Lot of wise asses here because they freak if they go faster than 75 mph. Pansies. I got the Busa up to somewhere around 150 mph out on the Jackson Highway. That was my "fast enough..."
You should be able to get close to 120 mph, whatever that is in kilometers. The Fat Bob is a great platform for airing it out. Be careful and good luck!

Nice color on the 'Busa, is that a '07? Yep, 150 mph is just getting started on that bike! Had mine up to 185 mph one time (on a closed course, of course!), slowed down to 155 mph started to lift my head above the fairing...damn near took my head off, LOL! My 'Busa had I guess you would call a Stage 1...Yosh full 4 into 1 exhaust, K&N air filter, and Power Commander. Also lowering links in the back, 3/4" Genmar risers, and double bubble windshield. Later went +3 on the rear sprocket. Crazy fast bikes! Oh, and those front reflectors were gone just as fast as they were gone on my Low Rider!

thanks man..i will start working on the cams as its the easiest..atleast that big of an engine should have equal grunt..m not gonna race a harley but i shud have that power at my disposal..
can u suggest any cams if i want the power range in mid to high end rpms...as the initial power is good..it goes numb after 160-170 km/h in 5th gear
I would save enough so you can do a cam/shave the heads combo. If going with a higher rpm cam, you definitely want to raise the compression and put in a 0.030 head gasket. That will do wonders for the power output.
