Well it looks like the Army has decided that my services are needed at Fort Polk, La for the next cpl of years anyone in that area can tell me about the local hangouts clubs etc. I got some buddy over in san Antonio but thats a long *** haul every weekend lol.
Steelcowboy, Welcome to LA. good riding weather here most of the year, but lots of rain. There is a cool place not far from the base called Mollys Lamplighter lounge. Alot of bikers hang there. Lake Charles is not far from there, and there are lots of places to hang there. When you get settled in holler and we'll go ride.
Welcome to La. Hot as heck here. Lots of thunderboomers with very heavy rain. Watch out for the Rosepine speed limit. There are some nice rides near there. Over to Toledo Bend and up Hwy. 191 along the lake. Cross into Texas and some nice roads west of Toledo Bend. East of Leesville towards I-49 on Hwy.'s 28, 121, 113 and 26. During the week watch out for the log trucks. On the weekend these are almost completely clear of heavy traffic.
I don't know much about the bars (I don't drink).
Lake Charles is nice and there is a nice ride from Lake Charles to Sulphur and down Hwy. 27 to Holly Beach and back to Lake Charles through Creole. This is a loop around Calcasieu Lake to the Gulf and back. They are about finished four-laning Hwy 171 between DeRidder and Lake Charles so it won't be as dangerous as it used to be.
DeRidder used to be part of a dry parish when I lived there but, I don't know about it now. That was about 20 years ago.
Have fun and be careful.
Thanks everyone. Are there any big rallys comming up down there. I'm moving over the Sturgis timeframe so I'm gonna be looking for something to help ease the pain lol.
I got an email today from a guy talking about how they have a strip club there with a one armed midgit dancer. Might be all lies but either way I gotta see this $hit lol.
SteelCowboy,
I live to the east of Fort Polk (Alexandria/Pineville). Usually have a lot going on over here. Good biker bar is Brewzerz (Alexandria). Also they have Renegade HD in Alexandria. Great dealership. They put on good events every month. Today they are having a huge party named Bikes, Bands, and BBQ. Getting ready to head over there now. The Combat Vets Association M/C is at Fort Polk. Thinking of joining. Drop me a line if you need anymore info. Welcome to LA.
