brake light switch and wire question

Default brake light switch and wire question
04 Dyna FXDLI. My front brake light switch in the switch housing was bad. Until a new one comes in I figured Id cut the 2 wires so I didnt keep blowing taillight bulbs cause the brake light was constantly on. Now I have no brake light and my rear turn signals dont work and horn is out. Strange. Any ideas where to start looking first? Am I right in thinking if I cut the 2 brake light sawitch wires in the housing and tape them off I should still have rear brake light switch working and just not front?

Your brake light, turn signals & horn are all on the accessory fuse usually. Take a look at that fuse first.

Yes, that accessory fuse keeps blowing. Is this because I cut the brake light switch wires in the switch housing? I taped ends up separately. ?

If you taped them separately and you're still blowing fuses, you either pinched a wire or didn't tape it good enough.
