New Member, new problems
Hello everybody! Just bought a 2012 Super Glide Custom with 1,200 miles on it 3 weeks ago. Stock except for Big Radius exhaust. Enjoyed riding it for a few days that were above 50 degrees until last Saturday when I noticed the little red light by the speedo was on. The next time I tried to start it - nothing. Lights came on, could hear fuel pump but no other sounds. ( I have since learned how to retrieve and erase codes). Long story longer, had it towed to dealer. Waiting for a new BCM to be installed. I have learned from this forum that this problem, while not common, does happen but a 6 year old bike with 1,200 miles? Not mad but disappointed. I just sold my 1996 sportster 1200 custom with 28,000 miles (bought it 12 years ago with 11,000 miles) and it was the most trouble free vehicle I ever owned. The closest I had ever been to breaking down was when the stator started to go but was able to limp into the dealer. I look forward to interacting with my new friends here and hopefully I won't need to much technical advise but it nice to know it is available. Thanks for listening. Ed

Sorry you're having trouble.
I always suspect vehicles with obscenely low miles. Sitting is death. Rodents, dry rot, corrosion, general neglect. The mofawker probably still has the factory fluids in it and the tires look brand new but are hard as rocks.

Welcome from west coast of Michigan. The bike sounds like the battery was toast and on the last run the stator went out trying to charge the battery. I hope the BCM fixes the problem you are having.
