Default FXDLS intake exposed nipple. is this normal?

swapped out my stock intake for a big sucker II and noticed this. if I put my finger over it, the idle drops out. there isn't suppose to be a hose off this?

One would thing "exposed nipple" on a Harley forum would have more NSFW photos, lol.


On mine it has a plug on it, no hose. No idea what it's for...

ECM has compensated for the extra air coming in. It may take it a bit to relearn.

Build up a plugged vacuum hose, ride out about 5 miles, plug it off and ride back, what is the difference between the two rides. Usually a port is plugged off.

Just checked Ronnie's parts drawings and that is a "purge tube" and the drawing shows a cap on it.

I just checked and my HPi TB on the same bike doesn’t even have the tube. Could you plug the tube and reflash your tune and see if it runs correctly?

I think a hose goes from there to a charcoal canister on Cal bikes... probably should be capped.

yeh. it drops the idle significantly...will do when the rain stops.
