i have run bigshot staggereds on my wideglide for three years and they are loud and get louder with age. lol I was on a run with some friends, one had python slip ons on his heritage and they were the loudest of any of the bikes (but I think he has modded his mill and isn't running a stock twinkie 88 anymore)! For your bob I like the look of the rhienhardt slip ons. another buddy of mine has the black denim bob with that setup ( and apehangers) and it is very sweet . sound like the V & H to me, personally I like the look of them better on the SB than I do the staggereds (and I run the staggereds myself). i agree the 2 into 1 is the best for performance and they sound good, but i also thinkthey take away from the theme of the bob. the bigshots are not as good performance wise as2:1 but still with the powerchamber desgin they are pretty good for performance. the pythons are the loudest of the three from what i've heard. but i think any of these would be safe in the neighborhood as long as youre easy on the wick...however all will also set off car alarms with a little twist...gotta love it.
Very helpfull, buddie,
I´m thinking about that:
or
These are bikes, I found searching on the forum, and I found it sweet, man!
Does anyone put this exhaust without putting PCIII? Or can I wait a little bit so, I save some money for summer? Thanks!
I've got V&H BSS with quiet baffles and they are pretty loud even when running mellow! The quiet baffles help lower the sound a bit but they are still louder than my SE II's were. If you don't want to bother the neighbors I'm not sure V&H are for you!
My dad had the Samson Street Sweepers on his '90 FXSTC. I loved them, but they were very loud and wide open with cones. Louder than what I am currently running.
I am running Python 2/2 staggered pipes. They are very high quality and very good looking. Easy to instal and made by the same manufacture as the V&H Big Shots. I bought mine on Ebay for much less than V&H. I love them. The have a very distinct low rumble at all rpms. Not too loud. I roll out of my house at 6:30am every day and I do not ever get any complaints in my HOA neighboerhood. I try and keep the idle low. however, a couple of my buddies in the hood say I am their alarm clock.
Anyway, good luck with whatever you have. If you live rural, I would get the Samsons because they are truely kick *** pipes. No holds barred.
Running around town and in the hood, every day riding, get the V&H (or save some dough and check out the Pythons).
Side note....."hounddog" on here used his stock staggared headers, put Checker auto tips on them, drilled and trimmed the stock heat shields, installed cones, and greay tape heat wrapped the pips, and came up with a bitchen looking, hard running, medium loud set of "custom" stock pipes. Look'em up.
Personally I love my Rinehart slip-ons, nice deep sound but not offensive. I'm on my third set of pipes, stock, cycle shack(similiar to SE II) and now Rinehart. The cycle shacks sounded loud and tinny and far too easily set off car alarms(every morning!) Plus in comparison tothe Rineharts the other pipes looked "cheap". In summation, great visceral sound, very high quality and did I mention better performance. Downside a lot more expensive, full systems $795.00, slip-ons 435.00. Peace
I just put V&H Bigshots Staggered on my 06 Superglide along with an Arlen Ness Big Sucker air cleaner and an dyno tune (stage 1).
The pipes are a little louder than I expected, but not loud enoughto p**s anyone off. If fact after the warm up settles down, they get bearable and I think it is just going to take a little getting used to the increased volume. They sound great and I can feel the increased throttle response.
I just installed them on my 07 bob a couple week ago. I painted them black and left the tips chroms, looks great. I think they are a little on the loud side, but thats what I wanted. I love em. Did a big sucker stage II and a thundermax, couldnt be happier witht he choices I made.
Cheapest set of drag pipes you can find, if you need to add baffles you can. And yes if you have stock everything you WILL NEED TO RE-MAP or what ever you do with a computer,God I love carbs!!!!
