Hafta replace the mainshaft
So I went through the primary this winter to change out the 32T pulley to a 30T and upgrade the clutch. While I was in there I figured I'd upgrade the primary chain tensioner and the mainshaft bearing on the primary rear housing. Everything went fairly smoothly but when I pulled the race for the mainshaft bearing I noticed what looked like a gouge in the mainshaft. I thought no problem before I wonder if that will be an issue now? Well since I'm using the Baker bearing there is no race to create a nice rounded seal at the back of the primary and primary fluid is leaking. I'm gonna guess it's from that gouge. I didn't create the gouge but now that I looked at the pictures I took of it I think the previous owner replaced that bearing already but they cut the race off instead of using the puller and ended up damaging the mainshaft by cutting too far through the race. Anyone here replace a mainshaft before? How much wrench time am I looking at here?
