Thunder-Max Dyna install
I have a question. On the front o2 sensor harness, how did you disconnect it? The rear has a quick disconnect, so no problem, but the front goes into a box with other wires and their is no connector to take the origninal o2 sensor off. Did you just leave it on and tywrap it to the frame or did you open the box and disconnect the harness or what? Thanks for the replys
Todd
There it a quick disconnect, it is in the plastic caddy that sits behind the regulator. Once you disconnect the o2 sensor you can just cap the plug on the sensor wires that leads to the ecm. You may need to loosen or remove the regulator to get to it.
Good luck with it.

I know that psycho went this path - PCIII then thundermax on his 06 SG.
I know the search is not very good here - but if you look back you should be able to find his thread.
He is a big fan of the Thundermax - if you PM him I'd guess he will get back to you with details, but his posts are very detailed in general, so if you can find his original post, i'm sure the details are there.
i'm thinking of going this route myself, but probably a winter project as my pipes do not have the o2 bungs and would need to be drilled and have some welded in.
good luck
Thanks again,

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
It ran great for a little while, then began to feel sluggish and I started hearing noises. So I decided to make some changes after changing the oil and learning from my mechanic nothing was wrong mechanically.
Ug, well I learned the hard way that the cable I was supplied with sucks and I have to shove it into the T-MAX to get it to sync. (I realized this when the T-MAX would not connect when I went to make the changes. Zippers replaced the cable under warranty, but gave me the wrong one! Why didn't they replace the cable with the same cable I sent them, exactly?)
Anyway, I decided to turn off the AFR target feature this time and rely on one of Zipper's maps. Of course Zippers has no map that's anywhere close to my configuration, so I used the one they recommended. It idled better, but otherwise ran funky. It popped on the decel like crazy! Eventually that went away but when it went away, the bike started running awful. It puts, misfires when I rev from time to time, and won't maintain a single speed without jerking about.
After checking all connections to ensure nothing came loose and monitoring my engine from my computer to see if there was a data feed problem from the sensors (none), I decided to re-install my stock ECU, which has a SERT module dyno tune. I got the T-MAX because I wanted to easily adjust if I got new pipes and because I don't believe I should have to pay $150 or more every time I make a configuration change. Well, the bike runs like normal without the T-MAX... a little lean, but that's because I had quiet baffles in when I did the dyno tune, now I have performance quiet baffles tomorrow.
I'll be contacting T-MAX about this, but, given my luck with companies providing Harley parts and Harley-Davidson itself, I'll get screwed.
