Just installed Progressive stock replacement front springs in my ‘08 FXDF (not heavy duty, not lowered) I
trimmed the supplied spacer 1/4” as per instructions, used stock HD oil but 1/2” lower fill. Rode 350 miles on the weekend, some was pretty rough pavement (I live near the start of Alaska Highway in northern Canada)
Springs worked excellent, providing soft intial compression but never bottomed out. Now the lack of rebound dampening in the stock back shocks is more apparent. Overall, a worthwhile and relatively inexpensive comfort upgrade

Thanks for your input. Been thinking of an upgrade for my 2012 fxdf too. Not sure of my direction yet. Great ride info too!! I'm heading that area in early June. Got friends in Hudson Hope and Edmonton I'll try to visit.
I use 10w oil in my 02 Dyna front, then a few years back put the Prog. standard front springs in and the front was/is responding like a new front end. This job was a pretty easy upgrade.
