Progressive Front Spring Preload, How Much?
I put Progressive Front Springs in my 00 Sporty today and I'm concerned about the amount of preload I had to use. 3" of preload put the resting height of the forks at right about where I was with the stock springs. I started with 2" and that left me about 3/4" lower than stock. The Prog springs were very fast compared to the stocks and a little smoother but the dive on braking and rise under heavy accel was pretty dramatic. 2 3/8" didn't make much diff so I went 3" The short ride this evening didn't show them to be overly harsh but I'm concerned about limiting the total travel using so much preload. Anybody who did an 03 or older and can tell me what preload they used would be much appreciated.
