The cons for that route are more cost and having to figure out all the different bends that the bars come in. There's enough video and pictures out there now of the San Diego bars that I feel like I can take a guess at what they'll be like, but I'll admit it's just a guess and I'm hoping for the best.

I like that fat bob you got there. Those are those zombi bars, aren't they? I think they look perfect on the wide front end. I'm a bit worried that the tall tbars will look odd on the wide front end of my fat bob, but really this is my first year with this bike and nothing about it is gonna look particularly awesome for a while yet.
First off, congrats on landing a FB! It’s a great bike in the Dyna line up and guys have been taking parts off it for years! Lol. Not sure what look your going for but if it’s the West Coast Dynamo look then chances are your going to want a faring to hide alot of “ungainly” look that comes with Tbars. Which is fine if that’s what you’re after. I never intended for mine to have a faring and so having the bars in the open, Tbars we’re off the table. But,I’m thinking besides being adjustable,(which is a must for me) and just a cooler look, risers with a brushed stainless MX bar would look better especially without a faring. The two biggest hang ups people have with the FB are the wheels and the rear fender. Sooo when your thinking the front end is too fat for those bars look at it with different wheels/tires and that should help alot. Good luck! Oh,and chop that rear fender off man! 👍🏼

here is my fat bob with burly brand t-bars @ 8 inches.. i find with them slightly narrower than stock bars it takes a little to get use to, but now i would not have a different bar.. burly builds them very rugged...

I enjoyed t bars on my fat bob. I had 12" and they were comfortable and I felt good handling mainly due to being noticeably narrower than the stock drag bars. If you go too tall I could see where handling would be compromised. But I do agree that tall bars on a bob should have a fairing hiding some of them. But all I run now are t bar or tall riser and mx bars.

I think the tall bars make it easier to lean the bike into a low speed turn

Thanks, I like it a lot. Now that I've learned a lot about Dynas and have seen a lot more of them, I can tell mine is kinda faded, plain and has more miles on it than most. Now that it's springtime I've seen many more for sale with a lot fewer kilometers on them for less money, but I think that's how she goes, eh? I think it might be a law of the universe, actually. There were two for sale when I bought mine, and I was dead-set on getting a fat bob. Funny you mention the fender cause that's the first thing that drew me to them. I find that without the step-up angular shape of either the 2014-up fat bob stock seat (or say the Saddlemen Step-Up that I plan to get) it loses proportion and doesn't look as good. I actually don't like it at all with a solo seat. Even with the tail-light changed out, it somehow doesn't look right either.

Definitely concerned about the ungainly look, and I think I'll get a fairing for that and for the wind. Hopefully I'm not over-estimating how much a fairing will help with the wind, but I'm looking forward to getting one. I mainly ride country roads, but I often get on the highway to make time so I have more daylight left for the good roads.

The fat front tire was something that I specifically wanted, so the things that people don't like are what drew me to the Fat Bob, which is kinda funny. I do think a totally stock fat bob looks kinda dorky from the front though, tbph, and it doesn't surprise me that I like the black sheep the best. The bikes I've seen on here all built up look amazing, though, so that's where I'm hoping to get eventually.

I've heard that about Burly and I was originally looking at those ones, too. I don't think I could go narrower because I find the stock ones make an uncomfortable wrist angle, and I think narrow would be worse. Thanks for the input, bike looks sharp.

I only stopped considering the mx bars because on the one site, they had over 10 options for the bends and I have no idea what any of those mean. Really I should've been doing all this research this past winter, not at the start of the riding season for the year. Procrastination is the best nation. The reviews for the the San Diego bars are all very positive from what I've seen so far, so it's gonna be a tough choice. My bike is at the shop right now getting mid-controls so I can't even mock anything up so I might wait till I get back.

Nice fat bob, that's a great colour.

Those are the bars with all the bends, if anyone happens to know what all that means. I suppose I could go with the lucky daves riser bar. The big selling point for me on the San Diego is that people say the pullback and downward angle of the grip section is just right, and that's the thing I've been chasing for years on other bikes. I'm very new at Dynas and Harley in general.

Did you look at the additional images below the main image? That explains the "Bends" and other sizing

Check out Wild 1 chubbys site.

I got the 8" pullback drags for my FXDB. Nice quality solid 1 1/4 bars and perfect for me fit wise in every respect.
