Will not crank
2008 heritage softail classic. I flip the switch to run, lights and fuel pump engage. When I press the start button. Nothing happens, not even an attempted crank or sound. I have checked the fuses and took the battery out and charged it.
It was running before I parked it to install a wiring harness for a trailer. The harness has its own fuse to single out the trailer.
I am sure I am missing some easy things to check but not sure for this is my first motorcycle and want to learn and do the maintenance myself.

How is the battery? Just cause you charged it doesn’t mean it is holding a charge, when dealing with electrical problems first step is making sure the battery is working properly. Then ground wires, then tracing the wires to which ever component is not working....
