I really like the old fully covered chrome shock look; more befitting my Fat Bob than racy remote reservoir pieces. I've put the Switchback top covers on and got the look I want but the stock shocks have poor-no rebound dampening and I'm getting beat up on some of our local roads. The wife rides with me on her Low Rider and it's got 430 Progressives; much improved over stock. The only other shocks avilible in full chrome are the 412 Progressives; are they much of an improvement over the stockers, or perhaps I should get the Switchback shocks? Opinions?
I too used the Fat Bob shock and added Switchback caps. I used clear silicone to "glue" them on. Easily removable if needed. I needed the full covered look for the 1959 retro style of my "Street Bob". Rides like a Cadillac.
Beauty! You really went all-in with your bike. I like the early Duo Glide look, too.
I've ordered stock length, stock spring 412's with chrome covers...will see if my Switchback tops fit when I get them
