Default need new shocks

I need to replace the shocks on my 2001 dyna to something that rides better especially 2up. Have been thinking of 412 H.D.progressives or air shocks off a touring bike, would need the lower ones cause need 12" shocks. Any experience which will ride better? the stock shocks hurt my back after some miles, and my GF'sbutt. any ideas or comments? I did a search but still undecided. Thanks
