Bike's idling fine but wants to cut out when getting on throttle. Like no gas and will hear some backfire/compression out through air filter. I cleaned the throttle body and sensor. Good battery and connections. What's next? Fuel pressure test? Maybe my pump is going bad is what I'm thinking. Any other causes for that to happen?
No offense but this is your first post so if you aren't a troll...we would need more info to help
What mods are done to the bike? Was anything done to the bike before this started?
I upgraded exhaust- V & H 2-1 pro, fuel pak also V & H, and stage 1 air filter. Still have the 88ci. I did just take it to the shop cuz of some back fire when downshifting and was hearing a big whistle of compression come out of air filter/ intake sometimes, not all the time, when I shut bike down. The shop downloaded stage 1 onto ECM and yanked fuelpak off. So I just remapped that and is back on. Test ride went good for about a mile when I lost gas throttle again.
Could be...
clogged injector
wiring to one injector is bad. get a voltmeter and do continuity tests for each wire while jiggling them
clogged fuel filter
fuel pump
fuel pump wires. do continuity tests for wires
MAS wiring. Do continuity tests
plugs
plug wires
could be a bad fuel or timing map. not sure how Harleys are, but cars run rich until warmed up and timing is different as well
or something else I cant think of off the top of my head. good luck
I appreciate all the input from everybody that gave it. Am gonna test fuel pressure tomorrow and move on from there. Here's that pic to those dyna fans out there.
Realizing what you have added to the bike, to open the exhaust and intake and you are trying to get more fuel to run better, cooler. Have you tried a short ride "around the block" with the fuel pak to see how the bike runs? I have a '05 FXDLI with low restriction mufflers and a open intake, bone stock 88" engine, no internal work. The ECM is programed from the factory to operate the fuel and ignition from maps HD put in. There are no O2 sensors.on the bike to adjust the ECM. If the bike sat for a while it's possible 1 or both injectors are dirty. Run some seafoam through the gas as it idles and maybe it will eventually clear itself or else you may have to replace them. I put on a DFO from Techlusion and I can adjust the pulse width of the injectors with four pots on the unit. One other item on the 05's, there was a TSB out concerning leaking valve guide seals allowing oil in to the combustion cylinder fouling spark plugs, put some fresh ones in if yours are oily sooty, gap is .040 inch., see if it runs better.
