Default Fork for Dual Disk Street Bob

I want to put on dual disks on my Street Bob. Not sure what I will do for brakes just yet (stock Harley, Arlen Ness big rotor, or Tokicos) but first step will be to get a fork that has a caliper mount on the right side. Will I have to get a pair of forks or just one? BTW, the bike is a 2008 Street Bob and the fork lowers have a brushed silver appearance.

How likely is it to find a used fork or even fork brake assembly used?

Thanks for pointing me back to your earlier reply. I was trying to find that post, but was just looking for posts that I started.

The casting differences are not huge but definitely noticeable. Getting a pair of new sliders will set my back $600. I guess that I will keep searching used for a while & hope I come across some. How many years back can I go back on the FXDL sliders and have them work w/ my 2008?

If you want FXDL Sliders with a Right Side Caliper Mount, it's the same answer (post) that I pointed you to ... 2014

The Silver Right Slider is $220 shipped to your door from Surdyke ($440 for the pair)

FWIW, you can buy a Chrome Set for $399 from the same place.

I'll probably be living with a mismatch then. $220 is more than I'm willing to pay for 'pretty'.

I bought a whole fork set with trees used on eBay. They're out there. Be patient.

True, patience and timing can be key, but his desired set (or just right side) will probably be bit more scarce (as opposed to your Fat Bobs) ... but you only need it to happen once

At one time I was also trying to figure out how to get a double disc setup for not a lot of bucks. I see you're considering the AN Big Brake, so why not try just one of them and see what kind of improvement you'll have. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I understand we might each have different goals in stopping power, but after I installed the Big Brake I was very happy with the results, especially considering the cost. If it ends up not being enough you'll have better brakes while you can look for a deal on the rest of the setup.

you are correct - I was considering the AN Big Brake and still am. I am trying to get a total cost on converting to dual disks before making that decision. I also want to upgrade my front suspension which will require new cartridges & getting the fork rebuilt. As long as the fork will be apart, I thought it might be a good time to put on a new slider.
