To be different. Strip all the chrome off and black it all out.

Lol, if it's stock the first thing to do is get a better flowing air filter assembly and exhaust

What you do to your engine is limited by your wallet. What I've done to my 02 FXD is a 95" kit, 203 cams and the hybrid cam plate with a high output oil pump and hydraulic cam chain tension shoes. Speaking of cam chain shoes, if you have 20,000+ miles on the clock have those puppies inspected.

limited I want to get best bang for my buck and most likely will have stuff done over winter so it’s ready to rock next spring.
I’m looking for ideas then see how it plays out with the cash situation.
bike only has 8700 on the clock but I am aware of the tensioners issue and will probably go with the hydraulic cam tensioner upgrade. Or better to go gear driven?
is it best to upgrade the cams at the same time?
Is the SE stuff worth it or is there better around same price point or cheaper.

Oil filter relocation kit will save some mess and slightly cool the motor...

With that low of mileage why don’t you just ride it for awhile, might not need to do much (depending on riding style) ...for ex, my stock EVO was good enough, my newer 96 is better but I am a conservative rider. If your stunting, burnouts and need more power then you can go down that rabbit hole.

most people get by fine with just a good stage 1, others add cams later on....
