Isn't there a bushing at the lower end of the stanchion that has to slide up and down in contact with this? that will be ground down in seconds.

Don't have threads on the damper bore do I? Doesn't the bolt screw into the damper rod itself and there's only a washer sealing the bottom of the slider (which probably won't seal now either).

Impossible to get a good photo of the damper bolt hole...

Here's the axle bore.

My point exactly.

Sorry, I didn't really mean to include "Threads" with Damper bolt Bore

I just wanted to see how they left those areas (after seeing the Tube bore), which looks like you would have to clean up the axle bore ... but that's not that big of deal. Just some take better care than others ... as you can see

.

Right, but that's kinda irrelevant at this point isn't it? With the interior being so damaged/corroded its unusable. I may take a ride to my dealer and show the service manager - let him tell me they wouldn't install that on my bike... Getting that in writing may help if further convincing is needed.

I was using those areas as a further reference to what "They Do" in general ... If they would have been "Clean", I may wondered a few things. If that slider would have been in my hands, I wouldn't have asked, but I surely would have looked at those areas and then made a mental analysis ... that's what I do without ever saying a word

But correct, it doesn't change the crappy tube bore

.

It's a shame. Looks like they did a really nice job on the exterior.

Absolutely, The exterior chrome job is absolutely beautiful. As were the last couple items they did for me. I was honestly expecting them to come back with "oh wow, we F'd up and will make it right". But at this point with the response I got, not so much of a good feeling. However I'll hold judgment until I hear back.

They arranged a pickup tomorrow and are sending the slider back to them. I agree with you, but I have to give them the chance to look at it in person I would think...
