I have an 03 dyna wide glide I got for a good deal so I want to do some work to it to make it a little lighter or smaller. I had a sportster before this so used to that.
My first question is can any Dyna tank fit on the Dyna wide glide? Do they even make a tank one size smaller?
Next question is on the back fender. It flips up and I want to change it to one cut like on my sportster . Can any Dyna fender fit on this bike as well or no?
If you wanted the sportster look, you should have bought another sportster...the wideglide is a completely different bike then the sportster and any other dyna, it’s got more rake in the neck& trees plus the 21” wheel makes it handle well going straight not as good in the twisties...it’s also got forward controls and baby apps...it’s a crusier in every sense of the word.
you couldn’t have picked a bike more different then your sportster....if you tried,
Pretty much any other dyna probably would have suited you better if that’s the look and handling you wanted.
Now that’s not to say it can’t be made to handle...but it’s more to make that happen.
1st, leave the gas tank alone, your going to want all 5 gals. 2nd any dyna fender up to 2005 should fit, and really any fender CAN be made to fit, it just depends on you skill set or how deep your pockets are....
The wideglide is a great iconic bike. Don’t **** it up by trying to turn it into something it’s not!
At first I didnt get it....well the difference between you and the OP is that yours is going down the full custom route and will look fantastic when finished....the op wants his to look like a sportster
