Default Add dual caliper to FXDB w/ ABS

has anyone with single front brake and ABS added dual caliper? I want to do the conversion but folks at Harley say it has to be done at the factory. And I don’t want to remove ABS line due to the heavy freeway riding I do. Impatient drivers are no joke.

Look at the Lowrider set up, I believe it has duel brakes ...as a minimum you need a new fork leg, new caliper and probably new bearings and ABS adapter for the one side. Then you need to figure out how to reprogram the system or get the abs modual from one of those bikes as well. Doable but a **** load of work and money to make it happen....

Can I ask why? does the bike not stop now? Remember braking is about the contact between the tire and the road, not how many rotors you have....if you want better bite, better off putting a 180 tire on the front.

I would bet that if you practiced some hard stops you could get to where you want without having to tear into your bike

My guess is that it would be cheaper, easier and safer to just sell your bike and get one already set up for duel ABS brakes...if that is what you need.

The way I read his question is that he HAS ABS currently ... He just wants Dual Disc, still with ABS ... Shouldn't be a big deal

And Yes look to the 14-later Low Rider as a reference

.

Yah... I’ve been looking at the LowS setup. Possible but expensive. Adding Lyndall rotors and pads to my single disk setup. I mostly like the way dual disk looks ;-)

I have Dual Brake on my bike stock so I’m no expert, but I have read that Arlen Ness Big Rotor Kits will increase braking by 30%.
