Default 2018 fatbob lean angles

You read all this crap about what kind of cornering machine the 18 fatbob is and when HD introduces the new FXDR as even more aggressive lean angles then the fatbob. According to HD website the SG has the same lean angle as a fatbob.

Pre 2018 the dyna line always sat higher with greater lean angles than the old sloptails. Throw a set of taller shocks and even better lean angle. Seems like Harley went threw that lowering phase to get new riders to feel more confident in controlling the weight. Bolth of my bikes sit on the tall side. I will wash out way before I scrape. What lean angle degrees are you compare in??

People talk about the new Fat Bob being awesome in the corners, but according to the web site the new ones have the same lean angle as the old Dyna style. The lean angle hasn’t changed, so I’m a bit skeptical that it’s a night and day difference.

My guess is that it feels more nimble because it’s a bit lighter and the inverted forks make the front end more stable in corners and under heavy braking.

That’s one of the things I don’t like about the new style. With the old ones, you had the option of adding Ohlins shocks to make the bike sit a bit higher, gaining some extra lean angle. These new softails are going to look weird if you try to raise them up for better performance.

Yes, I’m aware that most sport and naked bikes are “softail” designs. However, those bikes already sit very high and have excellent lean angle capability, so there’s no need to try to raise them up. But when you have a softail design with crappy lean angle, that’s sort of the worst of all worlds.
