Don't know about Landmark sourcing, but Buchanan does offer at least a half dozen different spoke "shapes". They lace and true, too, but don't generally sell hubs so you likely have to send them yours.
you can get complete SEALED wire wheels from American Wire Wheel, got a set of 18's for my 06 sporty, sturdy but heavy very nicely chromed rims! thers aluminum rims as well, lighter but needing a tube. lots of options when its a HD. using your hub can save a bit but your "down" while it gets done. ordering a rim + new spokes + getting a local to do the job is a good way to go as well.
Thanks guys, really great information your giving me.....just one more Q and I’ll quit bugging you..if I go the 16” route for the front wheel, what model rear 16” should I be looking for? I really want the wheels the same size....
Yes. I really don't quite understand how he does it. Slightly off topic...I don't remember ever seeing Multi post pics of his ride (or rides, I assume) but it must be a bizarre mix match of different model year parts that somehow work perfectly together.

are you talking about me? Not 100% sure even after reading it a few times...lol If so I am not sure how to take this comment..lol it sort of sounds like a compliment but I'm really not sure...lol
Anyway if it is about my bike(s) then yes its a bit of a mash up...but the reality is that its a 2012 Superglide that I am converting to look like an older FL. Every Harley I have ever owned (excluding the Roadglide) I have done a Fl Nacelle on. This was the 1st one I had to really do a lot of custom mods on to make work, mostly due to the frame neck being different then say a 2005- down frame.
I have owned 7 Harley's since 1993, currently I have two in the garage. Back then wheels would interchange easily...today not so much with all the stupid bearings changes the moco have done....makes it difficult to just "swap" anything....

will a touring wheel fit?
I just got done looking at my copy of "The Complete Book of Harley Parts Interchangeability" ...
If you go with a "Take-off" laced spoke 16" Rear (one that will work pretty much directly except for maybe basically changing bearings), it will be a 16x3 and will use a recommended Max Tire size of 150 ... Is that OK?
Do you have many resources locally? (besides Ebay?)
If you wanted a 16x3 Front and Rear ... A nice Take-off SET from a 2002-08 Touring would work ... (just have to use the Correct Bearing, Spacer Sleeve, Bearing Shim) ... ... NOT 09-later REAR
I can list More 16x3 Rears by OE application that will work and what to look for ... if needed.

Thanks for all the help. Right now I am leaning towards an aftermarket 17” rim, 17 x3.5 laced to my hub running a 140 white wall tire. This way I know it will work, and I don’t have to replace my rear wheel.
i will still be on the lookout for a set of 16” but don’t really want to go smaller then the 160 in the rear...but I am open minded so I’ll be watching ebay and will be stopping by my local independent shop as they have hundreds of wheels kicking around

I was definitely referring to Multihdrdr... he always pops up in these interchange threads (see his posts above) and his knowledge/resources/whatever is quite ridiculous.
Yes, yes it is... there are a few guys on here that I really value their opinion and he is one of them. I love the look of his bike and at first was thinking of going that route with mine when I first bought it. But My love of older FLH's always brings me back to that style...its a style I have always loved and have consistently been drawn to since my first one in 1978.
Here is a picture of my 98 dyna that actually sparked the moco to create the Switchback. I meet a few reps from the moco at the Rats hole show in Sturgis in 1998 and they were all over my bike. I even met Bill Davidson here and spoke to him for about 1/2 hour about the construction of this bike. At the time my bike was the only one I had ever seen like it....it must have sparked their interest ....so I am now trying to get that look again, hence all the wheel questions
98 Superglide, duel disc FL front end, 16" wheel front and back, shovelhead bags, custom brackets and a ton of custom work to make it all fit together. Was a great bike, won a number of shows with it. Ended up trading it in for a Roadglide, the next owner painted it all black with house paint and a brush...it just killed me Attachment 619634
