Default exhaust question

Hi, I am a proud new owner of my first Harley, 07 street bob. When i bought it i was asking about putting exhaust on it, and the sales guy told me if i put exhaust on it i would also have to do two other up grades, one being the air cleaner, and the other i forgot. any one with any info on doing this up grade please help. also has anyone put on forward controls??? I have been a tech for three years, for cars and trucks, didnt know if this is something i should try?
Thanks

First Welcome,

there are alot of posts on this topic. You could try a search (but I warn you now the search here kinds sux)

anyway in a nutshell, you could put a slip on mufflers on and not have to do any other mods, but if you are going to replace the Air Fliter and allow more air flow them you will have to compensate with some type of a Fuel Managment System

Best of luck to you and your new ride

What Punty say's, just don't let Stealer talk you into those 07 SE slip ons, there no better than stock pipes.

if you put a set of pipes on you also need to put a air cleaner on. then it needs to be remapped, i have the power commander pc111 what a differance in performance you willl notice it right away as for the forward controls they are simple when you get a set it will come with everything you need good luck

Like they said before me, If you increase your air intake get it mapped.

Lot's of threads about forwards on the boards too. If your a auto tech, they will be a breeze to install and they will make your bike look a hundred times better.
