So I have zero oil pressure.. I rebuilt the pump with the S@S hv/hp kit and still nothing. I had a shared key on the inner gear. I replaced it with the supplied key. It seemed to pump oil when I had it apart. But nothing now. Not sure what to do from here. Any ideas?
I used assembly lube type oil as I was putting it all together so that it wasn't dry inside the pump. But as far as priming the pump otherwise, no I didn't. How do I go about doing this?
Remove the screw, spring and check ball from the oil pump.
Pour some oil in, or wait until the oil runs down from the tank and fills the pump. Reinstall the ball, spring and screw.
Fill up the oil tank , pull out the spark plugs , stick an oil pres. gauge on the motor and crank it until you build up oil pres. for about a minute. Put your spark plugs back in turn on the fuel and fire it up.
Alright! Primed the oil pump through the check ball port, pulled the plugs and cranked the motor and BAM!!! 20 psi of oil pressure.. Thank you so much for all of your input..
