I believe Harley brand plugs are made by champion. Just remember just cause it says Harley on it, does not mean it’s made by Harley. Last time I looked Harley didn’t have an oil refinery....tire factory,...
I picked up some basic Auto Lite (4164) plugs that I am going to try. Heard they about as equivalent as the Harley OEMs.
I've used Autolites for years. One thing to be careful about: The screw-on terminal top will get loose, and may cause a reduction in performance when it does so. I've tried several things... I used to just grab the top with pliers and make it super tight, but it would eventually come loose still (except the one that I made too tight, and the insulater cracked). Next I tried a drop of blue loctite, but the environment of high temps and vibration wasn't right for loctite. I seem to have it permanently solved now, though... I have a very small lock washer (same diameter as the terminal) under each terminal, tightened until the washer is flat. They haven't loosened up since...
I bought a pair of Pulstars at a swap meet because they were cheap enough that I figured I'd give them a try. Ive been running them since February and I can tell zero difference between them and the champions I took out. As long as its correct for your application, a plug is a plug is a plug.
Plugs are like oil... choose the one that is rated for your ride and buy from your favorite vendor.
You want a better/hotter spark?.. upgrade your coil....

This ^^ has been my experience as well. The more exotic plugs do tend to last longer, tho. If it takes 4 hours to change your plugs (FWD V8 car, fer example), by all means go $$$. For a Harley? $4 and 4 minutes...do it every year and still be money ahead. LOL
