Default 2011 fatbob build

Well, biting the bullet this winter.
currently

2011 dxdf fatbob
vance & hines 2-1 exhaust
se 204 cams and adjustable push rods
se heavy breather
v&H fp3 fuel pak

Winter project:

complete motor build done through harley
96ci to 103 big bore kit, bored out to 110 with racing matched pistons and all internals with 585 cams
race tuned with power vision

Working with a dealer that is very well known and recommended. They were fantastic, they listened to what I wanted to gain out of the bike, we worked back and forth coming up with a custom package to get what I wanted with as little potential issues as possible. this custom kit we cam up with, is the best build and also relatively common for a 96 original motor. could of went straight to a 110 big bore, but a lot of reported issues, and coming from a well known tech with a high reputation of honest work, the 103 kit built to a stage 5 essentially is the best combination of parts/build based from a 96ci without heavily modifying the frame and implement coolers etc. Needless to say I'm a bit nervous, this bike is my babe and the only one I have and its my first harley, but, looking forward to the gains.

Exciting times ahead!

Finding the right mechanic/shop to partner with is so critical. I'd say there is a years worth of planning and discussions back and forth on my 2010 build.

Any plans for suspension/brake upgrades to match the power gains?

YES! Suspension I will be doing myself. Going with a decent set of progressives. Just haven't decided on what model as there seems to be quite a few as well as other brands. Winter research project. lol. Trying to find something that's gonna be great for a all forms of riding. Don't need the bike lowered, but would like something that would give me at least some comfort for day/ weekend trips, but also enough sport to them to have some fun.

The brakes I'm in the same boat. Haven't looked at the brakes yet, was just concentrating finding a shop and right technician for the build. But it is on the list, and will be something I'll be researching over the winter as well. I honestly don't know a whole lot, or what options is out there for brake upgrades on a non-abs dyna. i imagine there's quite a few upgrade options and brands out there too. lol. If anyone here has had great feedback on shocks/brakes, please chime in on your thoughts or recommendations. If I can narrow it down to a few choices, then that's something I can bounce back and forth with my tech.

Obviously, like a lot of tech's, he could just tell me what to go with, but its my bike, I'm the one riding it. He wants me to do research, gather input, then bounce idea's with him.
