Dual Disk Conversion w/ ABS

In 2006 member Jay Risk came came to me after he purchased some piggyback shocks for his brand new 2006 FX Street glide, Complained that some cage'r cut him off and he was able to save it. His wife (new) was on the back and she was not thrilled at this new sport she was just introduced to. Remember 2006, no bagger Brembos at that time. There was no one working/modifying of 2006 Dynas at that time much as far as brakes goes. There was no dual flange caliper mountings at that time for the other side to hang the brake bracket. When I received Jay's brand new 2006 49mm forks, I started measuring. My goal was to make Jay to come home with his new wife safely. Next was to bring the 49mm forks over to the pre 2006 FX & FXR's. I found the only mass produced sliders with dual disks was the V-Rods. This was/is an economical option to reduced stopping distance and in a straight line. All new parts were used.
When designing this project I measured from the center of the axle to the floor of the slider on both V-Rod and 2006 FXDB. The V-Rod slider was internally shorter and so in order to make the forks the same (2006 OEM) length using the stock 2006 OEM internals a length change must be made internally. Knowing what I am doing is what I get paid for.
The measurement from the fender brackets should be made from the center of the axle. That measurement is the one you should be concerned about a the wheel/tire has not changed in this case. You should be worried about changing your trail by changing out your trees to mine but that is more money thrown into the fire. I know I told you about all of the money you can save by switching over to my 30mm Road & Track cartridges. Much better than the NIX 22 mm Ohlins and a lit more money. You do not need no stink'en phony chart to tell you which is by far the better option, just ride it for 1,000 feet to see the difference between first class and junk. LINK:
