Default Dual Disk Conversion w/ ABS

I finally have all of the parts for my dual disk conversion on my '14 FXDB with ABS. One question remains, do I need anything else for the current ABS setup? I am swapping my current spoked wheels out for some FXDL mags that are coming off of a non-ABS bike. Are the bearings the same? Spacers, etc? Thank you.

If it is non ABS, you will need to replace the bearings. The left bearing talks to the ABS system.

Just a rhetorical question and you dont need to answer. Shouldnt you have done a proper research before you got all the parts? Its quite a big question and plays a big roll for your mod... right?

Sorry Abe, but personally whenever I see HD Brembos on a 06-later Dyna, I know that they really didn't understand the differences of the parts involved

Yeah. Shops, too, will say all you need is an FXDLS lower for the right leg.

The only thing that’s a little off is the front fender sits a little higher. Wonder if that’s because of the bolt-on placement on the VRod lowers or the adapter used to make the lowers work with the FXDB damper rod.

I glad you said "VRod lowers" ... My quick glance just saw a 06-later Dyna with HD Brembos.

But now after looking again, I see you that do have VRod Sliders ... That solves the caliper positioning ... (radial positioning)

Good Job

You probably mentioned the fender being higher because now the fork brace fits different? ... It's because VRod Sliders are Shorter than Dyna sliders

Btw, who made the damper rod adapter?

.

Makes sense. So, shorter sliders would then shift the placement of fender to accommodate. Howard Messner makes the adapter for the damper rod. He’s all over these forums.
