Default Does the Electrical System lamp indicate an issue ??

Hi all,.. I am seeking knowledge and wisdom from other Dyna owners who may had this this same issue in the past.

I own a 2013 FXDF, and after (approx) 20min into a ride, the 'Electrical System' Lamp illuminates and stays on for about 10mins before disappearing. There are no problems with the bike at all during this time. Seems odd, and I am hoping someone on the HD Forum can give suggestions as to what may be causing the light to appear.

Light as indicated by Owners Manual.

Owners manual says to check bulbs which all are fine, but issue still persists.

Many thanks in advance to all who can assist.

Mine would do that with an after market LED bulb in my headlight. Was fine most of the time. Red light was appear sometimes when I put my high beams on. Just not drawing enough power so the ecu or what ever controls that thinks its out.

If it's just a red light I'll bet if you check you fault codes it will say "Front brake stuck" or whatever the error is for you MC either needing a bleed or replacing.

I'm on my second master cylinder, we bled the brakes regularly but eventually that annoying red light would come back so we replaced the MC.

Next time it comes on - push the front brake lever forward with your fingers and see if it goes out.

It doesn't do that for a mastercylinder being stuck. It detect a irregular electrical current. Nothing mechanical or hydraulic.

It does it because the brake light stays on.....because the master cylinder is clapped out or needs a flush and the lever isn't returning all the way forward.

Edit - Fat Bobs (in particular) are notorious for it.

I would start with your charging system including the battery cables and battery. Sometimes the cables come loose and can cause problems...

The brake light switch in the front MC can also stick..same with the rear...
