If it's just a red light I'll bet if you check you fault codes it will say "Front brake stuck" or whatever the error is for you MC either needing a bleed or replacing.

I'm on my second master cylinder, we bled the brakes regularly but eventually that annoying red light would come back so we replaced the MC.

Next time it comes on - push the front brake lever forward with your fingers and see if it goes out.

It does it because the brake light stays on.....because the master cylinder is clapped out or needs a flush and the lever isn't returning all the way forward.

Edit - Fat Bobs (in particular) are notorious for it.
